A design competition is underway in the city of New Taipei for a Museum of Art.Designers from around the world are presenting their concept to the authorities in hopes of winning the competition. The contest objective is to build a world class museum of modern art that is both creative and shows something completely new and different landscape of the city.
The new museum will come in the park area that lies between the rivers and Yingee Dahan and would enhance the cultural vitality of the city. The museum also seek to integrate the natural environment in general architectural design
One of the concepts involved in the competition was designed by Zerafa Architecture based in New York. The concept proposed by Zerafa Architecture seeks to reconstruct the Yingee Park area to build the museum. The design proposed by Zerafa Architecture is also very radical, both in terms of appearance and architecture in general. The design, which was recently revealed by Zerafa Architecture, more like an incomplete nebula is continuous along its length from start to finish.
As mentioned, the design proposed here is a continuous spiral line. The spiral line emerges from the soil of the park and spiral upward, continues to finish in the center position. This particular form of the museum is designed to mimic the meandering course of the rivers that border the park.
This spiral shape creates a vacuum in the center of the building in which the different components of the museum were arranged in cascade. The grouping of different parts of the museum has thus been made to reflect the urban landscape of the mountainous area of the city of Jiufen which is nearby.
