Children can be our best ambassadors in our fight against all global environmental problems. The question is, how can we do this? Architects in the Studio 2BW led the way with a single modular bamboo school for refugees from Myanmar. Removable model build flexibility to move the school when necessary and using bamboo material offers low-cost, lower technical unit and respect for the environment. It’s a little on the ground and can move easily from one place to another as needed in the short term. The design also provides maximum safety video for children throughout the school could be seen from most angles.
The design of the Bamboo School won the international design competition held recently organized by building international confidence. The country faces a refugee in the world during the military regime. Keep this problem as motivation, the organizers had asked schools and removable modular refugees.
Based on the modular, bamboo school building could easily be extended depending on the amount of land available and the number of students in the future. The school has a core set, while the remaining blocks are in a perimeter. The building blocks have been arranged to provide maximum security visible. As such, it not only provides a safe space for children, but can also be monitored from most angles. There is an entrance and all visitors must first pass through the administration block, while school entry.
The main parts of the building, such as walls, floors and roof panels are made of wood of standard size 1220 mm x 610 mm. All these signs are recoverable and reusable for multiple purposes. The colored plates were kept earthly nature to reflect the link with the environment. To provide a visible link between building materials, form and landscape have been preserved bamboo vertical columns visible. They also believe that the whole building could be used for other activities and community.
It does not require specially trained to install or remove the building. While refugees repeatedly moved from one place to another, the School of bamboo has been designed to allow easy removal. This reflects the nature of the do-it-yourself (DIY) School of bamboo. There are also provisions for collecting rainwater. For shading, the roof projecting bamboo separated from the class structure is used. It reduces unwanted heat gain and has a covered terrace.
Eco-buildings are aware of the need of the day around the world. In addition, millions of children who are deprived of education due to war, natural disasters and other problems require special attention because they could become global leaders of tomorrow. The model presents the Bamboo School could be taken to provide space to teach children in all regions.
