Hermitage Plaza towers to take sustainability to a new high. The big project is the result of collaboration between the EPAD, the City of Courbevoie, Atelier de Paysage Urbain and the department of Hauts de Seine.The ground floor includes buildings facing each other, creating open spaces for people to walk through. A public plaza is included inside the towers for the promotion of social activities, the housing structure.
Foster + Partners have acquired the permission to build two adjacent towers rising up to 320 meters. Christened as Hermitage Plaza, it is planned to be stationed besides the Seine. The towers are designed in the shape of two diamonds, with a twisted form, tapering outwards. The underlying purpose of this project is the developing a sustainable community that will accommodate a hotel, panoramic apartments, a spa and also offices and shops.
The towers feature a mattress structure that uses less steel highlights the elegant proportions of the tower. Its facade panels are tilted to shade itself and the development of the air vents can be opened fresh. All these features collectively shaping environmental strategy and structure according to BREEAM standards, can be classified as excellent.
